Glitter Window Technique

This fun and easy technique adds the subtle sparkle of glitter to your projects.  Use it with your punches to create a bold focal point or a shimmery accent.

Stampin'Up!® Supplies:  Three For You Punch Box, Textured Love Notes/Cardstock, Ticket Corner Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Ribbon

Other Supplies:     Clear Packing Tape, Paper Trimmer, Adhesive, Scissors

Step 1:  

Create your "window/s" by using a punch on your cardstock.

Place a piece of clear packing tape (or scotch tape for small punches) over the back of your cardstock so that it completely covers the punched out "window/s".

Sprinkle your Dazzling Diamonds Glitter over the sticky packing tape in the "window/s" (front side of cardstock) and tap or brush off the excess.

~Our sample uses a 2.25"x2.25" piece of Purely Pomegranate cardstock.  Punch the Glitter "window/s" with the Flower Punch from the Three For You Punch Box.  Use the Ticket Corner Punch on each corner of the Pomegranate cardstock. 

                                   

Step 2:  

Stamp a design on your card base that will show through the glitter "window/s".  Stamp a greeting or message on the card base.

 ~Our sample card base is a Saffron Textured Love Note (only available in August).  The polka-dot stamp and the "thinking of you" stamp are from the Three For You Punch Box.   Images are stamped in Wild Wasabi Classic Ink (included in the Punch Box).   

                               

Step 3:  

Assemble your card.  Add embelishments such as ribbon, mini brads, buttons, or Hodgepodge Hardware.

 ~Our sample embellishment is Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Grosgrain ribbon threaded through a Horizontal Slot Punch.

                 

Alternate Idea:  Use Dimensionals on your Glitter Window cardstock to pop it up from the card base.  This will create shadows and give it more depth.
